GOLF CLUB SOUFFLENHEIM
At Soufflenheim Golf Course, we want to offer training in the game as well as how to behave on the course, according to the rules and etiquette published by the French Golf Federation, the FFG.
Golf is an excellent game for youngsters, since it helps them to develop fine motor skills. It also teaches them to concentrate, to persevere and to deal with stressful situations.
The golfing spirit conveys values of respect, for oneself and others, for the course and for the rules. It is a powerful vector of integration and reinforcement of self-esteem. Our facilities are perfectly suited to the needs of the youngest players.
Teaching is provided by Olivier SABOURIN, Geoff PERKINS and Jean-Yves MIGEOT. The equipment needed for the lessons is provided.
The Junior subscription (€450), gives access to the golf school, the training facilities, the 6 and 9-hole courses.

FLAGS (“Drapeaux”) are a system of age and level-appropriate challenges which allow children to progress towards their first ranking.
While they are learning, children play on courses adapted to their level, whose difficulty increases as they progress:
• Discovery level (“Je découvre le jeu”) on the training greens (or around the pitch and putt holes) with holes 30 to 60 m long (Green and Red flags in 4 to 12 weeks).
• Learn-to-play level (“J’apprends à jouer”) on the 6-hole course and then on the 9-hole course using the forward tees, covering a total distance of between 1100 and 1375 m over 9 holes (former “Flags” course) (level: Blue, Yellow and White flags in 12 to 36 weeks).
• Introduction-to-competitions level (“Je découvre la compétition”) on the “young distance” course, where children play each hole from the official tees corresponding to the Federation’s recommendations for their age (level: White, Bronze and Silver flags in 30 to 90 weeks).
• Real-competition level (“Je peux participer à de vraies compétitions”) (level: Silver and Gold flags in 1 to 3 seasons).
The awarding of the different Flags validates the youngsters’ progress up to a first ranking.
Each flag colour corresponds to a step on the road to autonomy.
1. Bronze Flag: should allow participation in Departmental competitions on P&P and compact courses.
2. Silver Flag: should allow participation in Departmental “young distance” 9-hole courses.
3. Gold Flag: should allow participation in Departmental “young distance” 18-hole courses.
The most important thing:
Children must have the opportunity to go and PLAY OFTEN ON THE COURSE (very important: practice, more practice and more practice again).
At Soufflenheim we have the facilities to accompany your child through all these stages of their training.
The training area (compact 6-hole course, driving range and putting green) for their first steps (Green and Red flags).
The 9-hole course and training area to progress (Blue, Yellow and White flags).
Golf School
Formula: “I learn golf”
First group: U10, those who start from 14.00 to 15.00, i.e. 1 hour per Saturday (red and green flag).
Around the practice greens (or on pitch-and-putt holes) with holes from 30 to 60 m long (green and red flag)
Formula “I am making progress”.
Second group: U12 level yellow and white from 14.00 to 15.30 1.5 hours per Saturday.
On the 6-hole course and then on the 9-hole course from the advanced markers I play a distance between 1100 m and 1375 m over 9 holes (former “flag” course) (blue, yellow and white flag),
Formula “I improve”
Third Group U14 You have an index 1 hour 30 minutes from 3.30pm to 5.00pm.
Formula “I become a champion”
Fourth Group Confirmed and Competitive 2 hours from 3.00pm to 5.00pm.
