A. General and playing rules of the Golf game

1. The rules of the FFG (Fédération Française de Golf/French Golf Federation)

The local rules, the house rules as well as the tournament rules of the day and the slopes of the golf courses of Golf de Soufflenheim Baden-Baden are displayed in the clubhouse (see notice board), in the starter room of tee no. 1 of the 18-hole course, are visible on the club’s website and can be consulted at the secretary’s office.

The Club reserves the right to make changes.

2. Eligibility to play

The 18-hole course of the Golfclub Soufflenheim Baden-Baden is open to players with an index of 40 or lower.
The management of the club may waive this on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances.

To play on the 9-hole course, only the golf course license is required.
External players must be licensed with the FFG or another association or be a member of a foreign club.

3. The game

The tee times are in the order of the Tee Time reservations made at the reception or via internet for the 9- and 18-hole course.
Tee times must be systematically confirmed (check-in) at the secretary’s office before each tee-off.
Unconfirmed or unauthorized tee times will result in exclusion from play (un check-in).

4. Game Priorities

  • On weekends and holidays between 10:00 and 15:00, preference will be given to flights of 3 and 4 players.
  • It is not allowed to have more than 4 players per flight.
  • Individual players must ensure that they do not hinder the others.
  • Slow players must give way to faster games.
  • The time required for a round must not exceed 4.5 hours on the 18-hole course and 2 hours on the 9-hole course.
  • Each player must have his own bag, it is not allowed for two players to use the same material or a single bag.

5. We respect the course/playing field

  • Rake the tracks in the bunkers.
  • put the rake back in the play direction.
  • pick up the divots and put them back.
  • improve pitches on the greens

6. Safety on the course

  • Children under the age of 5 are not allowed on the course.
  • Those between the ages of 5 and 10 must be accompanied by adults, but may play alone if they have an index of at least 36.

7. Driving range and 6-hole course

  • it is strictly forbidden to pick up balls on the driving range for any purpose other than driving (theft).
  • practice balls are prohibited on the 6-hole course, only normal balls are allowed.
  • practice is only allowed on the designated and special courts.

8. Clothing

  • Appropriate clothing is required for the game of golf. Bermudas are allowed, while shorts are prohibited.
  • T-shirts and tank tops are not permitted.

9. Dogs

Dogs are not allowed on the golf courses.

10. Control

The Management, the Receptionists, the Pros, the Golf Course Superintendents and the Greenkeepers have the authority on the playing field.

11. Use of the facilities, liability

The use of the facilities is at the users’ own risk and responsibility.

12. Rules, etiquette and discipline

Are those drawn up in accordance with the rules established by the “Royal and Ancient Golf Club St Andrews”.

13. Prohibited play zones (ZAP - Red): Biotope

They are defined and to be considered as Red Penalty Zone and Prohibited Play Zone, but also as Biotope. It is strictly forbidden to enter these areas to retrieve one’s ball.

Regulations in force on site/on the course

1. Out of Play Boundaries (Rule 18.2)

The fence on holes 6, 8 & 9 on the left side of the fairway at the edge of the wood and on hole 7 on the right side of the fairway at the edge of the wood is an artificial object defining the out-of-play boundary for which a free tee shot is not permitted.

2. Free tees (Rules 15 and 16)

Place in abnormal conditions and immovable obstacles.
All paths are considered immovable obstacles. Free Clearing (Rules 16.1a).

3. Protection of nature (biotope)

Are demarcated by green/red posts (biotope / penalty zone). For nature conservation reasons, it is forbidden to enter or play on them. These are prohibited playing zones. Clearance according to rule 17-1. Penalty for non-compliance with this rule, general penalty 2 strokes.
Penalty for breaking a local rule, general penalty: 2 penalty strokes.

4. Out of Play Boundaries (Rule 18.2)

The fence on holes 6, 8 & 9 on the left side of the fairway at the edge of the wood and on hole 7 on the right side of the fairway at the edge of the wood is an artificial object defining the out-of-play boundary for which a free tee shot is not permitted.

5. Winter Rules

The match committee shall determine the period during which the winter rules shall apply: “Place the ball on the fairway”. This period is posted in the “Starter” room.

6. Aeration/irrigation of fairways and greens

Local rule with notification if necessary.

7. Renting: Golf Cars and Trolley

The use of these is prohibited on in front greens and greens. Depending on the circumstances, the club management will determine whether they may be used or are prohibited.

Tournaments

1. Announcement / registration list / start list

Tournaments will be announced according to the annual schedule. Registration details can be found on the notice board in the clubhouse and on the internet. The type of play of tournament and the conditions of participation are indicated there.

 

In case of a “forfeit” or absence at the time of the start, the participation remains due.

 

In the event of an announced “forfeit”, the match management may supplement the start list in accordance with the FFG rules.

The tee times can be viewed on the Internet from 4 p.m. on the day before the tournament or by telephone from 3 p.m. on 03 88 05 77 00.

2. Tees

  • The ladies will start from the blue positions (SSS 74.5 Slope 137) / or the red positions (SSS 73.1 -Slope 133) points.
  • For the men, the start is from the white position (SSS 73.9 – Slope 142) or yellow position (SSS 72 – Slope 136) points.

3. Equipment / ball size / conformity

Each player must check that their equipment conforms to the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club St Andrews before teeing off.

4. Markings on the course

  • White stake = outside the playing boundary
  • Blue stake = place places in repair
  • Red stake = penalty zone – red
  • Yellow stake = penalty zone – yellow
  • Post red/green or yellow/green = penalty zone – red
  • Post indicating distance in metres = removable “obstacle” (Law 15.2)

5. Scorecard / Index / Ranking List

The scorecard must be collected from the secretary’s office before the round and completed and signed by the player and marker and returned to the secretary’s office immediately after the competition.

6. match management / referees

The instructions of the tournament director must be followed.

The tournament director will be named on the start list.

7. Speed of Play / Inappropriately Slow Playesse

Delays due to particularly slow play will be reported by the match management and may be penalized.
The playing times of 4:30 hours for 18 holes and 2 hours for 9 holes must not be exceeded.
In case of non-compliance, the flight will be warned by the marshal and may be penalized.

8. Notes

  • in tournaments only the local rules and the rules of FFG count. This also applies to club cars, electric trolleys and mobile phones.
  • accompaniment by a caddy is permitted (Rule 10.3)
  • practice and slow play (Rule 5.6)
  • timing is recorded on the scorecard and determines slow play.
  • distance markings on the fairway
    • On a par-3 hole, the distance marker is from the tee to the middle of the green.
    • On a par-4 and par-5 hole, the distance marker is from the tee to the start of the green.
  • signal for interruption of the play
    • An immediate interruption of play is signaled with one long 1 beep.
    • A stoppage of play in case of possible danger is signaled with 3 short beeps.
    • The resumption/restart of the golf game is signaled with 2 short beeps..

9. Return of score cards (Rule 3.3b)

Return of score cards to the secretary, duly completed and legibly signed, under penalty of a fine.
